佳能（Canon）是世界著名的相机品牌。佳能的主要产品包括照相机及镜头、数码相机、打印机、复印机、传真机、扫描仪等。佳能的名称源于观音大佛，创始人是位医学博士，取此名的灵感出自他抬头眺望天空而来。佳能公司原来的名字叫生本-古岳-橙久城（Seiki Kogaku Kenkyujo），是一个精密光学仪器研究所。佳能原有一个十分英语化的名字Kwanon，意为一位仁慈佛教女神的名。公司以此名，命其第一架35毫米测距式相机。到目前为止，世界上只有唯一一架Kwanon相机幸存。1937年，凭借光学技术起家、并以生产世界一流相机为目标的佳能公司成立。此后，佳能不断研发新技术，并在20世纪70年初研制出日本第一台普通纸复印机。80年代初，佳能首次开发成功气泡喷墨打印技术，并将其产品推向全世界。对技术研发的重视和投入，使佳能数十年不断发展壮大，并成为同行业的领导者。
